Second Assignment: Advertisement Banner
CREATE AN ADVERTIZEMENT BANNER
For Assignment #2, we will take what we've accomplished so far and bring it to the next level. Starting today and for the next TWO (2) weeks, we will be working on making a panorama using several images, working with masking, merging and text layers. The assignment is to create an "advertizement" banner, billboard or wide panoramic image.
IDEAS: Your "advertizement" can be for ANYTHING YOU WANT including but not limited to:
- your own artwork or business
- a real product (used books from last year's course work; your mother's recipe for felafel )
- a fake, made-up product (robotic goldfish pets; super-peanut butter that makes you smarter....)
- a political cause (Save Water; Promote Internet Freedom, etc)
THERE ARE NO LIMITS TO THIS _ GET CRAZY_HAVE FUN
DESIGN ELEMENTS: You MUST employ the following:
- at least 10 layers, including text(s)
- two or more "found images" for the background panorama
- one or more "original" images that you shoot with a camera (this can be a lo-res image shot with your phone)
- at least one text element/layer
- your imagination
RESEARCH: before embarking on creating your advertizement, spend some time looking at ads online and billboards in the city, and look at them carefully. Consider their use of text, size, proportions, message, pitch, and methods of manipulating the viewer. Here are some sites with examples that you may find invigorating:

GOAL: to convince someone of something, (ANYTHING!) through a visually striking/beautiful, smart/convincing design/image that incorporates a text element in the form of a short phrase or tagline, using the tools we've been working with in Photoshop.
DEADLINES: Next Friday (Feb 17): please have ready on your blogs two or three sketch images (unfinished). Final image is due in two weeks (Feb 24).
